Mystery Skulls Uniondale Concert reviews
A Great Show...BUT!
The "great show" was put on by the "Doobie Brothers," as always, and I've seen them several times, including 5th row floor seats in 1978 when I was but a "wee lad!"
Impressed with the venue upon arrival, I found that the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater is a very nicely designed performance center with excellent acoustics.
When my wife and our guests sat down, things "quickly went downhill" as my (very expensive) seats were NOT covered by the enormous dome covering the venue, leaving us "soaking wet."
I was faced with the issue of having forgotten my wallet, and despite having a "pocketful of cash," it was not enough to make purchases.
After missing a couple of good songs in the process, I found out that the venue "does not accept cash" at the concessions for purchases, which were very expensive at $60 plus tip for four beers/coolers.
I was directed down the breezeway to a "prepaid debit card machine," where I loaded a C-note onto a Visa-sponsored debit card called ReadyCard.
Treating the other couple, who were instrumental to my business success, led me to visit the "prepaid debit card machine" again as the $30 left on the card was not enough to cover the drinks a second time.
After depositing another C-note into the machine, it only spit out my card with $100 on it, not the $130 I had loaded previously.
In the end, I would describe my experience with a cautionary note, as the N.Y.S.E. listed "V" always seems to need "more free money."
